How to fill out a task
How to fill out a task
After clicking the New Task button, a form will open that needs to be filled out step by step. Start by selecting a project — this determines the availability of other fields such as participants, statuses, components, and versions. You can enable or disable workspace linkage by clicking the icon next to the project selection field. Enter a task title and, if necessary, add a description. This helps team members quickly understand the task’s purpose.
Once a project is selected, you’ll gain access to dropdown lists for Status, Type, and Priority. These parameters are configured when the project is created and may vary across projects.
Select an assignee and reporter from among the members of the chosen project. If needed, you can leave the assignee unassigned by choosing Unassigned.
Set the task deadlines — specify start and end dates and times using the built-in calendar and time selectors.
Provide a time estimate for completion. This value is used for resource planning and workload analysis.
If the Link Dates toggle is enabled, the start and end dates are connected — changing one will automatically adjust the other. When disabled, the dates can be set independently.
If the project uses additional parameters, you may also select labels, components, versions, or custom fields. These options are only available if they have been pre-configured in the project.
Custom fields are useful when the standard set of fields is insufficient and extra information is required.
