Date Navigator

What is it?

The Date Navigator is a tool for selecting dates and displaying data over various time periods. It allows you to quickly navigate between days, weeks, months, years, or custom intervals to analyze information for the desired period. The navigator consists of several control elements, including buttons for switching periods, returning to the current period, and opening the calendar or interval selection menu.

Selecting a period

Using the navigator buttons, you can move between periods. The left button takes you to the previous period, while the right button moves to the next one.

You can set the period yourself: day, week, month, year, or a custom interval. Depending on the selected period, the buttons will move you forward or backward by the corresponding day, week, month, or year.

Current period

Clicking the “Current Period” button returns you to the current day, week, month, or year, depending on the selected period. This allows you to quickly return to the active period after reviewing past or future data.

Open Calendar

The calendar allows you to select a specific date range for displaying information. For example, if a week interval is selected, the calendar will highlight the chosen week. Clicking on a specific date will select the week that contains that date.

Interval selection

The interval selection menu includes the following options: Day, Week, Month, Year, Without date, Custom, or All.

No Date — available only in applications where data can be assigned to a specific date or given a time period for execution. For example, in the Tasks application, it allows displaying all tasks, including those without start or end dates.

Custom — allows selecting a specific date range for data display. You can set a start and end date to view data for the chosen interval. This mode also includes a “Today” button, which quickly sets the current date within the interval.

All — switches to the “All” mode, displaying all items in the application for the entire time span.
